Summary:

Elementary School #16 is scheduled to open in Fall 2024 in the Karis neighborhood in the City of Crowley.
Per Board Policy CW (LOCAL), responsibility for the final decision in naming or renaming schools and other facilities within the District rests with the Board.
In doing so, the Board may request the Superintendent to solicit potential names from staff, community, and students.
The Board may also choose to establish a facility naming committee composed of community members appointed by the Board.

Recommend that the Board establish a facility naming committee composed of community members appointed by the Board, with each trustee appointing one committee member and one alternate, to serve as an advisory committee in making facility naming recommendations for Elementary #16 to the Board of Trustees for consideration.
