Summary:

Conscious Discipline is a leader in classroom management and provides a transformational, whole-school solution for social-emotional learning, discipline and self-regulation.
Conscious Discipline will be implemented in three campuses: Jackie Carden Elementary, Crowley Middle School and North Crowley High School and 9th Grade who are recipients of the Stronger Connections Grant.
This grant is focused on improving campus cultures, educator student relationships, and decreasing exclusionary disciplinary practices and combating instances of bullying, classroom disruptions, and acts of violence. Conscious Discipline trainers and coaches will train and support campus staff and the MTSS team utilizing everyday events to cultivate the emotional intelligence of adults and students through a self-regulation program recognized by the National Registry of Evidence Based Programs and Practices (NREPP).
This program fits into the MTSS system of supports by integrating social-emotional learning and discipline. Staff and administrators will be trained throughout the year, a student support framework and case management system will be implemented to effectively use this program to better manage student behavior through the implementation of this methodology based in scientific and developmental research, educators will learn to integrate social-emotional learning, discipline and self-regulation so they spend less time policing behavior and more time teaching vital academic and life skills.
Conscious Discipline’s methodology will help schools create a more compassionate culture and facilitate an intentional shift in adult understanding of behavior via the Conscious Discipline Brain State Model which provides specific brain-friendly, research-backed strategies for responding to each child's individual needs with wisdom. This highly effective approach is proven to increase self-regulation, sense of safety, connection, empathy and intrinsic motivation in both children and adults. Conscious Discipline is a proven, comprehensive approach that empowers educators, students and families.
