Summary:
|
The committee comprised of teachers, administrators, SPED, Technology, Maintenance, and an outside consultant from Atlas Consulting, selected the BenQ Pro interactive displays at a total cost of $3,288,544.00. This decision was based on a comprehensive evaluation of several key factors, including the total cost of ownership, training costs, the longevity of the displays, and their effectiveness in enhancing classroom instruction. The committee's thorough assessment ensured that the chosen displays would provide the best value and support for educational needs.
***Future Action***
A committee made up of teachers from all grade levels, school administrators, Finance, Technology and the Office of Academic Excellence was formed to select the best interactive display for our K-12 environment. They identified five key benefits:
1. Enhanced Student Engagement: Interactive displays make lessons more engaging by allowing students to interact directly with the content.
2. Multisensory Learning: These displays support various learning styles by incorporating visual, auditory, and kinesthetic elements, helping students better understand and retain information.
3. Collaboration: Interactive displays facilitate group activities and collaborative learning, enabling students to work together on projects and share ideas.
4. Immediate Feedback: Teachers can provide instant feedback on student work, helping to identify areas for improvement and reinforce learning.
5. Inclusive Education: Features like text-to-speech and adjustable font sizes make interactive displays adaptable for students with different abilities, promoting inclusive education.
This proposal will put an interactive display in every classroom in the district, transforming our classrooms into dynamic and engaging learning environments, fostering a deeper understanding and enthusiasm for learning among students.
RFP-025-052-2025-00 closed Feb. 11, 2025. It will be evaluated using the CISD score card and presented at the Regular Board Meeting on Feb. 27 as a Consideration and Possible Action Item.
