We are in the final planning stages of developing the 2025-2026 school calendar for traditional campuses. Two draft calendars were reviewed by the District PIT team, campus principals and the District-Wide Educational Improvement Council (DWEIC). Option A • Teacher contracts begin Thursday, July 31 • 8 days of professional development and staff workdays before students start school • Teachers get 4 days off for Labor Day Weekend (Aug. 29 – Sept. 1) • Teacher contracts end Tuesday, May 26 • 168 student instructional days • 187 staff workdays Option B • Teacher contracts begin Monday, Aug. 4 • 6 days of professional development and staff workdays before students start school • Teachers get 3 days off for Labor Day Weekend (Aug. 30 – Sept. 1) • Teacher contracts end Wednesday, May 27 • 168 student instructional days • 187 staff workdays A calendar survey with the two draft options was conducted for staff. 366 participants completed the survey. • 31.1% selected Option A (114 votes) • 68.9% selected Option B (252 votes)
